Acne Facial Treatment

Oil and dirt becomes trapped in your pores and causes breakouts that present on your skin as acnes.

Our acne treatment helps to reduce and prevent the breakout, clogged pores, ingrown hairs, cleans up skin and maintains balance.

There are many forms of acne and it's possible that you could have multiple types of acne on your skin and each type of acne will have its own treatment plan to achieve optimal results.

We will assess your skin and analyse the types of acne present on your skin and create a customised treatment plan.

We treat both adult and teenage acne.

How Does My Treatment Work?

There are various treatments that are used to treat your acne. At your consultation, we will review your skin and note your acne type. Identifying the type of acne will lead to the success of your treatment.

Acne may be noninflammatory or inflammatory, again we will review it at our consultation.

Non Inflammatory

Blackheads & Open Pores. This occurs when a pore is clogged by a combination of sebum and dead skin cells.

Whiteheads & blocked pores. Whiteheads/blind pimples can also form when a pore gets clogged by sebum and dead skin cells. But unlike with blackheads, the top of the pore closes up. It looks like a small bump protruding from the skin. Whiteheads are more difficult to treat because the pores are already closed.

Inflammatory Acne

These are pimples that are red and swollen are referred to as inflammatory acne.

Although sebum and dead skin cells contribute to inflammatory acne, bacteria can also play a role in clogging up pores.

Bacteria can cause an infection deep beneath the skin’s surface. This may result in painful acne spots that are hard to get rid of.

What Causes Acne?

Acne is usually associated with hormonal fluctuations experienced during teenage years, but adults can experience it too. Acne is one of the most common skin conditions about children and adults.

Clogged pores cause acne itself: These may be attributed to

– Excess Production of Oil

– Bacteria

– Hormones

-Dead Skin Cells

-Ingrown Hairs

It’s important to be patient with your acne treatment. While some treatments may work immediately, you may not see widespread improvement for several months.

Six Types of Acne

blackhead acne

A blackhead is a combination of sebum and dead skin cells. They occur when pore stay pores stay open when they are clogged. This is why you will see the colour and appearance of the blackhead.

nodule acne treatment

Nodules occur when clogged, swollen pores endure further irritation and grow larger. Unlike pustules and papules, nodules are deeper underneath the skin. Because nodules are so deep within the skin, you can’t typically treat them at home. Prescription medication is necessary to help clear these up.

pustule acne treatment

Can form when the walls around your pores break down. Unlike papules, pustules are filled with pus. These bumps come out from the skin and are usually red in color. They often have yellow or whiteheads on top.

cyst acne treatment

Can develop when pores are clogged by a combination of bacteria, sebum, and dead skin cells. The clogs occur deep within the skin and are further below the surface than nodules. These large red or white bumps are often painful to the touch. Cysts are the largest form of acne, and their formation usually results from a severe infection. This type of acne is also the most likely to scar.

papule acne treatment

Papules occur when the walls surrounding your pores break down from severe inflammation. This results in hard, clogged pores that are tender to the touch. The skin around these pores is usually pink.

Whiteheads form when a pore gets clogged by sebum and dead skin cells. The pore closes over and you are left with the appearance of a solid white bump on your skin. They are more difficult to treat as the pore is already closed.

Blind Pimples

A blind pimple refers to acne that has developed beneath the skin’s surface. Although the pimple isn’t noticeable from a distance, you can feel the lump. It’s most often caused by a cyst or nodules.

This type of acne develops from a combination of sebum (oil), bacteria, and dirt that becomes trapped in your pore. The end result is a painful lump under your skin that doesn’t have a “head” like other pimples might have.

You might notice a large white area under your skin that’s painful to the touch. The area might also be red from inflammation (swelling) of the surrounding skin.

Blind pimples can be hard to get rid of, but they’re treatable with patience and care.

However, topical antibiotics aren’t effective by themselves. You’ll need to use them in conjunction with another type of acne product such as benzoyl peroxide. The antibiotic gets rid of the bacteria and inflammation, while the benzoyl peroxide.

Avoid the Urge to Squeeze!!

As tempting as this may be, you should never try to squeeze or pop a blind pimple. You’ve likely heard this rule of thumb regarding acne in general, but it’s especially crucial to follow with blind pimples. Because these pimples aren’t at the skin’s surface, they’re more difficult — and sometimes even impossible — to pop. The act of trying to squeeze out the pimple ultimately worsens inflammation, which can make the area more tender to the touch. It may even become more noticeable from increased redness and marks on the skin.

Attempting to pop blind pimples can also cause scarring. The best course of action is to take measures to try to bring it to a “head” so that it can exit the skin via other treatment methods.
